Der Rhythmus der Rebe follows Julien Renard, who left his work as a dramaturge in Frankfurt to devote himself to winemaking.
Filmed over one and a half years, the portrait observes a life shaped by a different sense of time. Seasons, weather and the physical work of the vineyard determine what can happen and when, standing in sharp contrast to the routines of his former life.
Developed as an internal passion project across ten shooting days, the film was later shown on BURBAS and Julien Renard’s channels, in winery presentations and exhibitions. It was nominated for the Kölner Design Preis, which presents selected graduation projects from Cologne’s design programmes.
